PERMISSION TO FORWARD.....

Hi there,

Registration for New Jersey Romance Writer's Put Your Heart in a Book (PYHIAB)

Conference is in full swing. Set for Friday and Saturday, October 22-23 at the

Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in Iselin, the conference promises to be a

knock-out. Not only is there a great lineup of speakers giving dozens of

fabulous workshops, but almost two dozen editors and agents are already

scheduled to take appointments, with more on the way.

If you've signed up, great! We'll be thrilled to see you in October. But if you

haven't yet, there are many reasons why you should. Like hearing our Big Three,

Sharon Sala, Robyn Carr, and Leanne Banks speak. Plus…the opportunity to attend

a special pre-conference workshop given by Bob Mayer.

Every week – maybe even twice a week over the summer – we'll be giving you more

great reasons why you absolutely cannot afford to miss the NJRW Put Your Heart

in a Book Conference.

Here's REASON ONE: Peter Miller, literary agent extraordinaire, will be giving a

workshop at the Conference. Miller, known as the literary lion, has been an

active literary and film manager for more than thirty years. He is President of

PMA Literary and Film Management, Inc. and Millennium Lion, Inc; he and his

company have successfully managed more than 1,000 books worldwide, as well as

dozens of motion picture and television properties.

These works include eleven New York Times Bestsellers, and fourteen produced

films that Miller has managed or executive produced. Miller has a number of film

and television projects currently in active development, with some nearing

production, in association with Warner Bros. Features, Warner Bros. Television,

Paramount/DreamWorks, HBO, and many other producers and production companies.

What does this mean to you? If you've entertained thoughts of not only writing

that blockbuster novel of the year, but then seeing it get made into a movie,

you absolutely, positively must hear Peter Miller speak. The title of his

workshop is "Metamorphosis: Best Selling Novel to Hollywood."

If you've got questions, please go to our website, www.njromancewriters.org or

email me off loop and I will be happy to answer any and all.

Look for REASON TWO soon!

PERMISSION TO FORWARD

There's been a little gap between these postings. We're blaming the summer heat. In spite of the 90 degree days, nothing will stop us for long in our quest to make sure you have as many reasons as you need as to why you should register for our New Jersey Romance Writers' Put Your Heart in a Book Conference, October 22-23 at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel just 25 minutes south of Newark Liberty International Airport.

We love our headliners. Sharon Sala, Robyn Carr, Leanne Banks? You're going to love them! Plus what could be better than attending a special pre-conference workshop, given by Bob Mayer? All by themselves, these four are the first reason why you should make the NJRW Conference a must-attend.

But here we go with REASON FOUR for why you should attend the NJRW Conference: the executive and senior editors from Romantic Times, Faygie Levy and Elissa Petruzzi giving a workshop on how you, as a published author, an almost pubbed author, or even a sometime in the future pubbed author should approach media outlets. Who would know better than these two top-notch professionals?

Faygie has been at Romantic Times sine 2005. She has helped reshape the magazine's content and focus to be more inclusive of all genres of fiction. Before coming to RT, Faygie was a working journalist herself, mostly in the Philly area, where she won numerous awards for her work.

Elissa has been with RT since 2006. She, too, has a background in journalism. She has written for In Touch Weekly, the Baltimore Sun, and USA WEEKEND.

These two great editors, who by the way love to talk with authors and get sneak peeks at books before they're released, are just the people you want to hear from as you contemplate that essential piece of promoting your writing career: earned media.

If you've signed up for the conference already, we look forward to seeing you.

But if you haven't, don't miss a chance to hear Faygie Levy and Elissa Petruzzi from Romantic Times at the NJRW Conference. Please go to www.njromancewriters.org to the Conference tab. To register, click on the second from the top link.

PERMISSION TO FORWARD!

With all the excitement on changes in the ether, we wanted to make sure you knew about an update on registration for New Jersey Romance Writer's Put Your Heart in a Book Conference. It's been extended!

So if you thought you'd missed out, you haven't! For this great regional conference, scheduled to take place five weeks from now, October 22-23 at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel just 25 minutes south of Newark Airport., there's still time to sign up at www.njromancewriters.org.

We've told you some of the reasons why. Here's some more. As of last count we have 14 editors taking appointments...and 14 agents doing likewise, including the latest, Emily Sylvan Kim of the Prospect Agency. And you did hear that Leah Hultenschmidt of Sourcebooks will be joining us, didn't you? Here's an FYI: this is Leah's first conference taking appointments since she moved to Sourcebooks.

What does this mean for you? Unlike National, when you might have had a chance to make one pitch (if you got your name in early enough) at NJRW's Conference, you have an opportunity to make your pitch to more than one professional.

Not only do we have a full complement of editors and agents, but the speakers are top drawer. The list is headed by Sharon Sala, Robyn Carr, Leanne Banks, and special presenter, Bob Mayer.

Plus there's a veritable cross-section of the best writers in romance. Past and current RITA winners, countless of those who have been nominated., writers who are great teachers like Julianne MacLean and Madeline Hunter, humorists like Heidi Betts and MaryJanice Davidson, multi-published Harlequin authors like Rochelle Alers and Tori Carrington, YA specialists like Keri Mikulski and Cyn Balog. And there's many more! (Come back next week... we'll treat you to the more of the list...or you can go to www.njromancewriters.org and check it out yourself.)

Have you registered? If you haven't, you have until October 4. But don't wait until the last moment because remember, you want to get one...or more...of those coveted editor or agent appointments! Go to www.njromancewriters.org and click on theconference registration tab. Got questions? Feel free to ask either one of us:
